Handmade plaster relief created by Nicholas H Wood. This cast reproduces Day, one half of Bertel Thorvaldsen’s renowned Day and Night Roundels. The figure of Day is portrayed as a graceful winged woman in flowing drapery, carrying two infants and accompanied by a soaring eagle — a radiant symbol of light, awakening, and renewal.

Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770–1844) was a Danish sculptor and one of the foremost artists of the neoclassical era. Based for much of his life in Rome, he created works that revived the spirit of ancient Greece and Rome with poetic restraint and technical precision, influencing generations of European sculptors.

Cast in high-quality plaster and fitted with a wall hook on the reverse for effortless display.

Dimensions: 15cm (diameter) × 2cm (depth)
