Each cast is crafted by the Nicholas H Wood team, and led by classically trained sculptor Nick, who has a background in painting, sculpture and traditional plasterwork - having trained to cast at the prestigious Galleria Romanelli in Florence, Italy.

This plaster mask is after the portrait sculpture of Abraham Lincoln by Leonard Volk (1828–1895), one of the few artists to work with Lincoln from life. Volk met Lincoln in 1858 through his wife’s cousin, Senator Stephen A. Douglas. In 1860, shortly before Lincoln’s presidency, he sat for Volk in Chicago.
