Bacchus Bust
Life-size plaster bust of Bacchus, after the roman marble in the British Museum. Handmade by the Nicholas H Wood Studio, England.
This magnificent life-size plaster bust of Bacchus is a finely detailed reproduction of a Roman marble original held in the British Museum. Sculpted in the classical terminus style—where the figure transitions into a tapering pedestal - this artwork captures the richness and vitality of one of antiquity’s most celebrated classical deities.
Entirely handcrafted in England by the Nicholas H Wood Studio, the sculpture portrays Bacchus with a flowing beard of intricately curled hair and two graceful locks falling to the shoulders on either side of the neck. A fillet diadem encircles his head, and his expression bears the light, mischievous character often associated with Satyrs - reflecting Bacchus in his generative and life-affirming aspect.
Combining the spirit of Roman antiquity with the precision of traditional plaster casting, this classical sculpture is ideal for collectors, interiors, libraries, and those with a deep appreciation for handmade art rooted in mythological themes.
Dimensions: 51cm (height) x 30cm (width) x 25cm (depth).
