Cleopatra Head
Cleopatra VII plaster bust in the round, handmade in England by the Nicholas H Wood Studio. The piece has been made by creating a mould of an old British Museum cast. Perfect classical home accent for a desk, bookshelf or sideboard. With its sharp features and elegant hairstyle, the portrait sculpture reflects the powerful image Cleopatra projected in both Egyptian and Roman culture. A timeless piece for any history lover or classical interior.
This is a plaster cast of an ancient Roman bust, c. 50-30 BC, depicting Queen Cleopatra VII or a member of her entourage during her 46-44 BC visit to Rome with her lover Julius Caesar. The bust is now located in the British Museum, London. It cannot be proved that this head is a portrait of Cleopatra VII, but the similarities with some features of her coin images are most significant.
Dimensions: 40cm (15") High x 9cm (7") 22cm (8") Wide x Deep (29cm).
