Italian Poets Intaglio

A handmade plaster intaglio created by the Nicholas H Wood studio. This cast descends from the original Italian relief celebrating four of Italy’s greatest poets — Torquato Tasso, Ludovico Ariosto, Francesco Petrarca (Petrarch), and Dante Alighieri. Each is shown in classical profile, crowned with laurel wreaths as symbols of poetic achievement and enduring literary legacy.

The composition reflects Italy’s rich artistic tradition, honouring the masters who shaped its language and culture through their epic and lyrical works.

The surface bears gentle signs of age, including slight wear and patina, enhancing its authentic, timeworn charm.

Made from high-quality plaster, it includes a wall hook on the reverse for easy hanging.
